  - Super graphics
  - Large widescreen display
  - Built-in 802.11 and Bluetooth

A laptop that can hold its own with most desktops running hefty applications, including CAD and graphics.

The huge display is impressive, but it's not the only high-end feature.
The Mirage 4700 turned in a score of 6,711 on Futuremark's 3DMark2001SE video benchmark. That's a good score for a laptop, and well within the desktop range. With the Mirage 4700's fast CPU and Hyper-Threading capability, it will excel at applications that can take advantage of these features, such as video transcoding and 2D and 3D rendering. With Hyper-Threading now becoming more common on desktop PCs, more applications will incorporate this capability to improve performance. If the 17-inch display isn't large enough, you can use the S-Video or composite-video outputs to attach the Mirage 4700 to a larger screen TV. There's an optical /PDIF output that lets you route the audio to a quality sound system.

The Mirage 4700 is fast, has a nice display, and lots of goodies. Thoses goodies extend into connectivity.
In addition to a standard RJ-45 connector for wired 100BaseTX Ethernet, the Mirage 4700 has wireless Ethernet and Bluetooth capability. The Ethernet transceiver works on the 802.11b standard, and we were able to connect to our office 802.11a+g network in minutes.

A Big Goody Bag : Unpacking the Mirage 4700 is a bit like going through a goody bag. OVERAM includes a lot of nice extras that improve the overall computing experience. There's a notebook cooler that sits beneath the Mirage 4700, and boosts the airflow around the bottom of the laptop. The cooler is powered by USB, plug it into a port and the cooler's fan starts working. All laptops tend to get warm beneath the area where the CPU is located, and the use of a desktop processor in the Mirage 4700, which generates more heat than a mobile CPU, makes the underside warmer than many laptops. Using the included cooler when possible keeps your Mirage 4700, and your tabletop or lap, cool.

Included are two additional external accessories. One is a flash memory reader. This USB devide lets you read and write to all of the common flash formats, including the new xD Picture Card and even an IBM MicroDrive. Second is a USB TV tuner module. You can set it up to provide a small picture alongside your work. There's a CMOS video camera built into the top of the lid for video instant messages. (...) Since it is embedded, you'll never have to worry about losing it.
